The State secured an automatic sentence of life without parole for the capital murder of a young woman killed in her own apartment — plus 20 years for a second victim the defendant lured to the scene and shot. He fled to New Mexico and was captured the next day, and the case, built with the Midland Police Department and Texas Rangers, held the jury to guilty verdicts on both counts.

Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child · Midland County · 2024
A repeat child-sex offender was convicted on all three counts and handed three life sentences after the jury deliberated just three hours. A prior conviction made the aggravated sexual assault counts carry automatic life terms, and the court added a maximum life sentence on the indecency count — ensuring at least 30 years before any possibility of parole.
